A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR A
GRANT-IN-AID UNDER THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND FOR
THE PURPOSE OF RENOVATING THE CAPE GIRARDEAU JAYCEE MUNICIPAL
GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau is an expanding City in
the growing county of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and
WHEREAS, the existing City has a population in excess of
32, 000 people and there is a great need for the develonment of an
adequate eighteen (18) hole public golf course; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to construct an adequate golf
course facility for the use and enjoyment of the Citizens of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That application be made under the Land and Water
Conservation Fund of the United States Government for a grant-in-
aid of fifty per cent (500) of the total cost of the project.
2. That a project proposal be prepared and submitted to
the Department of the Interior, Heritage Conservation and Recreation
Service through the State Inter-Agency Council for Outdoor
Recreation for said grant-in-aid.
3. The Mayor or City Manager are hereby authorized to
execute the necessary document for forwarding the project proposal
application for a grant-in-aid under the Land and Water Conservation
Fund program.
