A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE
CITY COUNCIL TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE 600
BLOCK OF PEARL STREET TO LAFAYETTE PLACE
WHEREAS, the City Council intends to vacate the 500 block
of Pearl Street ; and,
WHEREAS, the 600 block of Pearl Street is a one block
street which will never be extended; and,
WHEREAS, request has been made to change the name of the
600 block of Pearl Street to Lafayette Place;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . The City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri hereby declares its intention to change the name of
the 600 block of Pearl Street to Lafayette Place .
SECTION 2. The City Council at its regular council meeting
� to be held on March 20, 1985 at 7 : 30 P.M. at City Hall will
hold a hearing to consi�er changing the name of the 600 block
of Pearl Street to Lafayette Place . Al1 persons wishing to
speak in favor of or in opposition to the proposed name change
will be heard.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a
copy of this Resolution in a newspaper of the City of Cape
Girardeau, A4issouri so that the residents of the 600 block of
Pearl Street and other interested persons will be notified of
the City' s intention and given an opportunity to appear at the
hearing to be held on this matter .
