A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE
AN APPLICATION WITH THE MISSOURI HIGHWAY AND
TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT FOR FUNDS TO AID IN THE
FINANCING OF A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Chief Engineer of the Missouri Highway and
Transportation Department is authorized to make operating assis-
tance grants for general public transport�tion p�ojects; and,
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose
certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision
by it of the local share of project costs; and,
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the applicant to provide the best
transit system that can be provided with the money available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUIQCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIR.ARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file
a capital and/or operating application for operating assistance
on behalf of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a Municipal
Corporation, with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Depart-
ment to aid in the financing of a public transportation system.
2. That the City Manager is authorized to furnish such
additional information as the Missouri Highway and Transportation
Department may require in connection with the application or the
project.
