A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND ADOPTING THE CAPE
GIRARDEAU, �tiTISSOURI, COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, 1987
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri is a growing city in Cape
Girardeau County, Missouri, and it is considered to be in the best interest of the
residents of the City to adopt an amended Comprehensive Plan to guide the City's
growth and development; and,
W'HEREAS, the City is empowered to irnplement the planning and zoning, and
amend the Comprehensive Plan under Chapter 89 of the Revised Statutes of the State
of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Cape Girardeau,
with assistance from the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Economic
Development Commission, has conducted careful studies of the City and its environs
and has caused to be prepared an amended Comprehensive Plan for the City of Cape
Girardeau showing the Planning and Zoning Commission's recommendations for the
physical development and the uses of land in the community, and such recommendations
as are ernbodied in a report entitled Comprehensive Plan for Cape Girardeau, hiissouri,
1987; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on
June 17, 1987, for consideration of said Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission did on June 17, 1987, by
resolution, adopt and approve the Comprehensive Plan for Cape Girardeau, 1�iissouri,
1987; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Cape Girardeau, I�tissouri has examined and
considered the Comprehensive Plan for Cape Girardeau, I�lissouri, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, the Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Cape
Girardeau that such plan be adopted and implemented;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, does hereby adopt, approve, and implement the Comprehensive Plan for Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, 1987.
