A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE
AN APPLICATION WITH THE MISSOURI HIGH�4AY AND
TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT FOR FUNDS TO AID IN THE
FINANCING OF A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
WHEREAS , the Chief Enaineer of the Missouri Hiqhway and
Transportation Department is authorized to make operatinq
assistance qrants for qeneral public transportation projects ; and ,
WHEREAS , the contract for financial assistance will impose
certain obliqations upon the applicant , includinq the provision by
it of the local share of project costs ; and ,
WHEREAS , it is the qoal of the applicant to provide the best
transit svstem that can be provided with the money available .
N04J, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
1 . That the City Manaq_er is authorized to execute and file a
capital and/or operatinq application for operatinq assistance on
behalf of the City of Cape Girardeau , Missouri , a Municipal
Corporation, with the Missouri Highway and Transportation
Department to aid in the financinq of a public transportation
system.
2. That the City Manaqer is authorized to furnish such
additional information as the Missouri Hiqhway and Transportation
Department ma _y require in connection with the application or the
project .
