A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING SOUTHEAST MISSOURI COUNCIL ON THE ARTS
AS THE OFFICIAL COMMUNITY ARTS AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU
WHEREAS, Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts is the
oldest community arts agency in the state ; and
WHEREAS, Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts
stimulates and facilitates the promotion of professional and
amateur performances and exhibits in the city ; and
WHEREAS, Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts provides
assistance and technical support to arts organizations in the
City of Cape Girardeau; and
WHEREAS, Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts
encourages the development of Art Education Programs and public
art awareness in the city, and
WHEREAS, state and federal support for the arts is
available to those organizations that have been certified as
official community arts aqencies :
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, that Southeast Missouri
Council on the Arts is recognized as the official community
arts agency for the City of Cape Girardeau .
