A RESOLUTION ACKNOG�LEDGING RECEIPT OF ANNEXATION
PETITIONS AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATIONS
WHEREAS , Four ( 4 ) Petitions for Annexation have been presented
to the City Council of Cape Girardeau , Missouri , requesting that
certain properties be annexed into the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri ; and
WHEREAS , these Petitions have been presented in accordance
with Chapter 71 . 012 Revised Statutes of Missouri , which statute
provides for voluntary annexation upon request of the affected
property owners ; and
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the City Council of Cape
Girardeau , Missouri , to consider whether such areas should be
annexed into the City of Cape Girardeau .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
ARTICLE l . That the City Council of Cape Girardeau, Missouri ,
does hereby accept and receive four ( 4 ) Petitions for Voluntary
Annexation of certain real estate as follows :
l . The Petition of Matthew Siemers , Arthur H . Siemers,
Allene E. Ainsworth and Earl M . Siemers, solely in their
capacities as Trustees under a written Trust Agreement of
Edna I . Siemers dated December 28 , 1972 ; Drury
Development Corporation; and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc . ,
requesting annexation of certain lands owned or intended
to be owned by them and presently adjacent to the city
limits of Cape Girardeau .
2 . The Petition of Matthew Siemers, Arthur H. Siemers,
Allene E. Ainsworth and Earl M . Siemers, solely in their
capacities as Trustees under a written Trust Agreement of
Edna I . Siemers dated December 28 , 1972, and Drury
Development Corporation, requesting annexation of certain
lands owned or intended to be owned by them and presently
adjacent to the city limits of Cape Girardeau.
3 . The Petition of Allene E. and Leon Ainsworth, requesting
annexation of certain lands owned by them and presently
adjacent to the city limits of Cape Girardeau .
4 . The Petition of Allene E , and Leon Ainsworth and Earl M.
and Irene M . Siemers , requesting annexation of certain
lands owned by them and presently adjacent to the city
limits of Cape Girardeau .

ARTICLE 2 . Be it further resolved that in accordance with
Chapter 71 . 012 RSMo it is now ordered that a public hearing be set
for April 1 , 1991 , at which hearing any interested person,
corporation or political subdivision may present evidence
regarding the proposed annexations .
ARTICLE 3 . It is further resolved that notice of said public
hearing be published in a newspaper of general circulation
qualified to publish legal matters not less than seven ( 7 ) days
prior to April 1, 1991 .
