A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING HOWARD C. TOOKE
WHEREAS , Howard C. Tooke served as Mayor and City Council
Member for the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , for over
seventeen years, and
WHEREAS , the City of Cape Girardeau made great progress during
the administration of Howard C .Tooke, a highly industrious City
official with the knowledge , experience and foresight necessary to
move the community forward along a continuous road of progress, and
WHEREAS, the Missouri Municipal League is an important
statewide organization that formulates policies, lobbies, and
works hand-in-hand with Missouri state government and helps all
cities in Missouri share information for mutual benefit , and
WHEREAS, the Missouri Municipal League recognizes that it can
only be as good as its members and directors, and that Howard C.
Tooke was a longtime active member, leader , and past president of
the League; and
WHEREAS , the Missouri Municipal League recently honored Howard
C . Tooke as a recipient of the Missouri Municipal League
Distinguished Service Award, recognizing his outstanding service
to the League, his leadership, commitment and excellence,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , that Howard C. Tooke be recognized for
1 . Being the well-deserved recipient of the Missouri
Municipal League Distinguished Service Award, and in so
doing , bringing yet another reason for the citizens of
Cape Girardeau to be proud of Howard C. Tooke ' s past
service , and
2 . His distinguished service to the Missouri Municipal
League, whereby he was able to expand his service to the
citizens of every Missouri city while continuing to
faithfully serve on the Cape Girardeau City Council .
