A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A LETTER OF AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY, FOR AN INVENTORY OF
HISTORIC BUILDINGS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Manager, for and on behalf of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to execute a Letter
of Agreement with Southeast Missouri State University for an
inventory of historic buildings in Cape Girardeau. A copy of said
Agreement is attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof.

LETTER OF AGREEMENT
This agreement is hereby entered into by Southeast Missouri
State University and the City of Cape Girardeau through its
Historic Preservation Commission.
The Preservation Law and Economics class from Southeast
Missouri State University, under the direction of Dr. Steven
J. Hoffman, hereby agrees to prepare an inventory of
historic buildings by means of an architectural survey of
buildings located within the following delineated survey
area:
An area comprised of approximately five city blocks
bounded by Independence Street on the south, Broadway on
the north, Louisiana Street on the west, and West End
Boulevard on the east. The eastern boundry will include
both the east and west sides of West End Boulevard.
Work on this project will begin on 19 January 1996 with a
completion target date of 19 May 1996. The city will
receive a complete copy of the project report, including
copies of individual property inventory forms, soon after
the completion date stated above.
The City of Cape Girardeau, via its agent the Historic
Preservation Commission, hereby agrees to pay the Historic
Preservation Program at Southeast Missouri State University
for project expenses outlined below. Mr. John Layton,
Historic Preservation Commission Acting Chairman, will be
the contact person for this project and Mr. Michael Miller,
Cape Girardeau City Manager, will be the signatory of this
Agreement.

For black/white film, photographic development and
contact prints, and reproduction of survey reports.
Incidental Allowance: $70 . 00
For valid miscellaneous expenses incurred in the project
including the reproduction of maps and survey forms .
Total Allowance: Not to exceed $470 . 00
