A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAti,
MISSOURI, STATING INTENT TO SEE� FUNDING
THROUGH THE "COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT" PROGRAM AND AUTHORI2ING THE CITY
MANAGER TO PURSUE ACTIVITIES IN AN ATTEMPT TO
SECURE FUNDING FOR THE B AND E INDUSTRIAL PARK
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNC�� OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Title 1 of the �ouving and Cam.munity Developmen� �ct
of 1974 does state as its primary objective �'�he development of
viable urban communities, by provi�ing decer_t housing and suitable
living environment and expanding economic opportunities,
principal?y for persons of ?aw ar.d moderate �ncome. "
WHEREAS, Title 1 of such act does offer to communities the
opportunity of monetary assistance ir� accomplishing its s�ated
primary objective, and;
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Economic Development is
designated to award Community Development Block Grants under
Title l, and;
WHEREAS, the City does have areas of need which may be
addressed through the Community Development Block Grant program.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED by the C�ty of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, that the City desires to part�cipate with the Missouri
Departmer.t of Economic Development in plans and activities for the
improvement of our community under the activities authorized
pursuant to the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974.
THEREF'ORE BE IT FURTHER R�SOLVED, that the City Manager of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, hereby is authorized to prepare
and submit documents which are necessary in applying for funding
and establishing an administrative organiza+ion to implement
activities pursuant tc the aforementioned act.
