A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION REGARDING THE
CAPE GIRARDEAU AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
ARTICLE 1. The City Manager, for and on behalf of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby authorized to execute a
Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Aviation
Administration regarding the transfer of Cape Girardeau Air Traffic
Control Tower maintenance. A copy of said Memorandum is attached
to this Resolution and made a part hereof.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
This memorandum of understanding (MOU) is made by and between the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) Cape Girardeau Work Center (CGI WC) and the City of
Cape Girardeau Airport Management regarding the transfer of Cape Girardeau Air
Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) maintenance.
Effective Date: April 1, 1996 "
The FAA CGI WC shall have access to CGI,ATCT for the following reasons:
1. The hook up of the test equipment calibration van to the existing ATCT hook up on
an annual short term basis, approximately two weeks.
2. The air to ground and ground to ground control of the ODALS and MALSR
maintenance.
3. The ILS monitoring equipment maintenance. .
The City of Cape Girardeau Airport Management shall provide AC power for the test
equipment calibration van at no cost to the FAA.
The FAA will allow the City of Cape Girardeau Airport Management to transmit wind
data over existing FAA cable at no cost to the City of Cape Girardeau Airport
Management.
The City of Cape Girardeau Airport Management agrees to supply wind information to
the FAA contract weather observer at no cost to the FAA. The CGI WC will continue
to maintain the FAA contract weather observer indicators. The CGI ATCT personnel
shall notify the Kansas City Maintenance Control Center (ZKC MCC) as soon as
possible if the wind equipment fails. The City of Cape Girardeau Airport Management
maintenance technician shall be responsible for the restoration of the wind equipment.
The FAA contract weather observer office will continue to provide a source for daily
ATCT altimeter verification until/unless the weather observer office is closed.
The CGI ATCT personnel shall continue the established callback procedures. They will
continue to call the ZKC MCC at 1-800-322-8879.
