BE IT ORDAINED BY TES COUNCIL OF T� CITY OF CAPE GIR RDEAU, MISSOIRI,�
AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That portion of Sprigg Street in the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, from the center line of Morgan Oak Street= to Q a
the center line of Jefferson Avenue, the same being within Districts
No. 41 in the City of Cape Girardeau?, Missouri, as laid out and de- � Q4
signated by Commission Form Ordinance No. 800 and 12S.3 passed ancien
approved on the 23rd day of July, 1937, shall be r epaireo an resur-
faced in accordance with said Commission Form Ordinance No. 800 and
J253 , as Project No. 1-50 in said District No. 4.
SECTION 2. The following work shall be done: Remove the existing
concrete pavement and curb and gutter, where found necessary, and
replace some with a Portland. Cement Concrete Curb and Pavement, seven
(7) inches thick, with Nine (9) inch thickened edges, together with
the necessary joints and curing required, and in accordance with the
Standard Specifications for said type of pavement on file in the office
of the City Clerk.
SECTION 3. Said repairing and resurfacing of said street shall
be done by the Department of Street of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, under the direction and supervision of the City Engineer,
so that the cost of such repairing and resurfacing shall not exceed
an amount equal to 60 cents per front foot of property fronting and
abutting on said protion of said street so improved.
SECTION 4. An accurate account shall be Kept by the City Engineer
of the cost of said work, including payment at contract prices for
any portions thereof done by contract, and such cost shall be defrayed
by a special t ax to be assessed in f avor of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, against the propertyifronting and abutting on said pobtion
of said street in the proportion t at the linear feet of each lot or
tract fronting and abutting on said pDbtion of said street bears to
the total number of linear f eet of all the property fronting and abutt-
ing on that pabtion of said street so repaired and resurfaced.
SECTION 5. upon the completion of said work the said City
Engineer shall report to the.Council the total cost of said repairing
and resurfacing of said pDtation of said street, the total number of
linear feet of property fronting and abutting thereon, and the pro-
portionate share of such total cost chargeable against each lot, tract,
and parcel of land fronting and abutting on said portion of said street,
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 6. Upon the filing of such report by t e City Engineer,
the City Council shall examine the sauce, and if' said report be found
correct and the total cost of said repairing and--esurfacing does not
exceedi0 cents per front foot on all of the property fronting and
abutting upon the said portion of said street, the Council shall levy
and assess a apecial tax against said property in accordance with said
report.
SECTION 7. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions hereof are hereby repealed.
SECTION 8. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after ten days after its passage and approval.:
