BE IT ORDAIIdED BY THE COUNCIL OF TI-IE CITY OF CA� GIRAT�DE�1U, A�.tSSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. That the portion of Sprigg Street in the Cit� af Capa Girardeau,
Missouri, from the center line of Ntorgan Oak Street to the center line of Jefferson
Avenue, the same being in District No. k, in the Cit� of Cape Giraxdeau, N�issouri,
as laid out and designated by Co�nmi.s�ion Form Ordinance IVo. 800, passed and approved
on the 23rd day of July, 1937, and Cormnission Forrn Ordinance No. 1z53, passed and
approved on the 29th day of N�ay, 1950, sha11 be repaired and resurfaced in accordance
with said Commission For,n Ordinances No. 800 and 1253, as Pro�ect No. 18-51, in said
District No. 4.
SECTION 2. The following work shall be done: RemoHe the axisting concrete
pavement and gutter, where found necessar�, and replace same with a Portland
Cement Concrete Pavement, seven (7) inches thick, with nine-inch thickened edges,
to�ether with the necessary �oint� and curing required, and in accordance with the
Standard Specificationa for said type of pavement on file in the oPfice of the
City Clerk.
SECTION 3. Said repairing and resurfacing of gaid street shall be done by
the Department of Public Works of the City of Cape Girardean, r�issour3, eulder the
direction and supervision of the City Engineer, so that the co$t of such repairing
and resurfacing shall not exceed a� amQunt equal to aixty (60) cents per front foot
of property fronting and abutti.ng on said portion of said street so improved.
Sr�CTION 1�. An accurate accotuzt shall be kept by the City F,ngineer of the
cost of saa.d wnrk, including payment at contract prices for any portions thereof
done by contract, and such cost shall be defrayed by a special ta�c to be assessed
in favor of the City of Cape Girardeau, Nlissouri, a�ainst the property froriting
and abutting on said portion of aaid street in the proportion that the linear feet
oP each lot or tract fronting and abutting on said portion of s$id street bears
to the total number of linear feet of all property fronting and abutting on that
portion of said street so repaired and resurfaced.
S.��CTION 5. Upon completion of said work the said City F�hgineer shall report
to the council the total cost of said repairing and resurfacing of said portion
oP said street, the total nvmber of linear feet of property fronting and abutting
thereon, and the pm�portionate share of such total cost chargeable against each
lot, tr.act, and parcel of land fronting and abutting on said portion of said street,
in acaerdance with t he provisions of this orclinance.
S�TION 6. Upon the fiZing of such report by the Cit� Engineer, the City
Council shall examine the same, and if said report be found correct, and the
total cost of repairing and resurfacino does not em�ceed 60 cents per front foot
on all of the property fronting and abutting upon the said por�ion of �aid street,
the Council shall levy and assess a special tax against said property in accordanee
with said report. Said tax bills shall be sold for not less than thair face value,
and assigned b� the City Clerk to any purchaser or purchasers thereof.

SF,CTION 7. All ordinances and parts of ordin�nces ir� conflict k2t�1 the
provisions hereof are hereoy repealed.
SECTIOPd 8. This ordinance shall take effert a,nd be in force from �:nd
after ten days after its passage and approva.l,
