AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING a REVISF,D ESTIN,ATE OF COST FOR THL CONSTRUCTION
OF STORi�4 tiND St�NITARY L�.Tr�AL S��'WEtZS IN Sr��A DISTRICT N0. 2-B, A PART OF
SL'WER DISTi3ICT N0. 2, ARID P.�OVIllING A D�TE FOR THE RECEIVING BIDS FOR T�E
CONSTRUCTION OF SAID SF,WERS.
WHEitr�S, The Council of the City of Cape Girardezu, Missouri, by Commi.ssion
Form Ordinance No. 111l�, passed and approved on the 23rd day of June,1947,
adopted plans, specifications and an estimate of cost, and authorized the
construction of a system of storm and sanitary lateral sewers in Sewer District
No. 2-B, a pe.rt of Sewer District No. 2, and set the date of Au�st k, 1949,
as a date for receiving bids for the construction of said sewer system, and
WHERE,AS, on the 4th day of August, 1947, bids were received for the construction
of said lateral sewers in said Sewer District No. 2-B, at which time one bid was
received in an amount exceeding the estim�ate of cost for said sewer s,ystem, and
for that reason said bid was rejected by the Council, and
WHF,R,EAS, the Council of the Cit,y of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is of the opinion
that said system of lateral sewers be constructed, and that construction costs
including labor, materials and equipment operation have increased since said
original estimate of cost was made, and a revised estima.te of cost has been
prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk on the 3rd da,y of
May, 19L�$, which revised estimate of cost is ba.sed on unit prices which are
consistent with cur-rent construction costs, said �evised estimate totalling
� 6340.20,
NOW, THE.�,FUR�, be it ordained by the Council of the City of 8ape Girardeau,
Niissouri, as follows:
SE�TION 1. That the revised estimate of cost for the construction of said system
of lateral sewers, prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk
on the 3rd day of Niay, 1949, �d totalling � 6340.20, is hereby approved and
adopted as the governing estimate of cost as set out in Commission Form Ordinance
No. 1114, passed and ap�oved on the 23rd day of June, 191�7.
S.r.CTION 2. That followino the provisions as set out in said Coznmission Form
Ordinance No. llll�, bids shall be received by the City Clerk for said work
of c structing said lateral sewers in Sewer District No, 2-B, up to �:3c� , P.�•,
on c�c.�.e,e :�..a-�, , the �� W day of ��������. , �.'��• l y S�n.
SECTION 3. kll ordinances or parts of ordinances, and in particular any part
of Commission Form Ordinance No. 1114, in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance are Y�ereby repealed.
SI+�CTION 4. This Y�g ordinance to take.:�ffect and be in force, from and after
10 days after its passage and approval.
