BE IT ORDAI:`1ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CaPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI� AS FOLLO�NS:
SECTION 1. That from and after the effective date of this orelinar�ce
it shall be unlawful fo� any person� firm, associatzon or corpora.tion
to stop or park any vehicle on that portion of Main Street between
the south line of Broadway Street and the nortl� line of In�ependence
Street; th�t portion Qf Spanish Stre�t bet�veen the south line of Broad-
v��a� Street and the north line of Independence Str�e�, u�i�� tl��.�t P��'����
of Independence Street betweea� the west line of 1�ater StreFt and the
east line of Spanish Street, between the hours of 7:00 A. M. and 9:15
A. M. , providing that the stopping or parking of trucks and delivery
vehicles on such streets during such hours for the sole purpose of
loading and unloading merchandise shall not be consid�red a violati�n
of this ordinance� unless unreasonably delayed or prolonged.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions hereof are hereby repeal��3.
SECTI�N 3. Because this ordinance inv�la�:> �he public safety
and public welfare, and because the traffic on the streets ab�ve
nam�d wi1Z be unusually cong�sted in the immediate future because
of the ap�roaching Christmas season, the City Counci7. finds that an
emergency exists requiri�g this ordinance to ta?.e effect immediately,
and this ordinance shall� therefore� t�ke �ffe�t an� b� in forca fror�
and after its passage.
