AN ORDINANCE GRANTING AN EXTENSION OF TI":�E
TO C. A. HOOD TO COMPLETE THE IB�PROVEBIIENT OF
THAT PART OF INDEPENDENCE STREET FRO�! THE WEST
LINE 4F WEST END BOULEVARD TO KELLER AVENUE.
WHEREAS � By a contract duly authorized by ordinance� C. g. �iood
agreed with the City of Cape Girardeau Missouri, to improve v�ithin
60 days , accarding to the terms of said� contract, that part of Inde-
pendence Street from the west line of West �nd Boulevard to the west
edge of the e�isting cvncrete payvement with the west line of Kel.ler
Avenue� and
WHEREAS , The said time for completion oP said improvement has here-
toPore been extended by Commission Form Ordinance No. O S � passed and
approved on the i'� day of July� 1946, and
VGHEREAS , Due to inability to obtain sand and cement, the completion
of said improvement has been delayed beyond the favorable weather season
for 1946, and
WHEREAS � Said Contractor has requested that the City Council grant
him and additional extension of tim� for the completion of said improve-
ment of said street. NOW ThEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF C�AEE GIRARDEAU�
MISSOURI� AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIOIV 1. That C. A. Hood, Contractor for the improvement of
that part oP Independence Street from the west line oP West End Boule-
vard to the east edge of the existing concrete pavement at Keller Ave-
nue, be given an extension of ei�ht (8) nonths from the 3rd day of
November, 1946, within which to complete his contract with the City for
said improvement.
SECTION 2. �"�11 ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions hereof are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take ePfect and be in force from
and after its passage.
