SECTI0�1' 1; That portion of Pacific Street from
the �?orth line of College Street to the Bouth line of Jeffers�n
Street tcgether witn the property fronting and abutting on said
portion of said street is hereby designated and made an improve-
ment dis tric t f or ths s prinkling, oi ling, repairing, surfac ing
and re-surfacing of aaid street.
SECTI01� 2� The roadway cf said street shall be re- ; ,�
paired and re-surfaced by repairing the present baee where neEessary `
and re-eurfacing the roadway of said street between curbs or 'between
gutters! where curbs and gutters now exist, a�d bet�reen line$ c on$ti-
tutin� an extension of exieting curb or gutter lines, where curbs and
gutter� do r�ot now exist, with a coating of one and one-half inches
of Amiesite or similar bituminous aephalt surfacing.
SECTION 3; Said repairing and re•surfacing of s aid
etreet shall be done by the Street Department of the City of Cane Gir
ardeau, Mias ouri, under the direction and supervieion of the City
Engineer and all poseible assistance with respect to Iabor and ma-
terials which can be obtained shall bs obtained and re�eived '�y �a�d -�
Street Department fr�m the Works Progreea Administration so that the
total cos t of said re�airing and re-$urfac ing to the City of Ca
Girarc�e�,u, Yiss ouri , shall not exceed an amount equal to s ixty �0�
cents per front foot of property abutting on said street.
SI�CTION 4; An aecurate account shall be kept by the
City Lngineer of the cost of aaid work, exc luaive of donations by
and from said Works Progre$s administration, and such coste ehall be
defrayed bq a epecial tax to be a,$seased in favor of the City of
Ca�e Girardeau, Yissouri , on the property fronting and abutting on
said portion of said etreet in proportion that the linear feet of
each lot Pronting and abutting on said portion of said street bears
� to the total number of linear feet of all the property within the
improvement district hereinbefore created.
SECTIoN 5; Upon the co�pletion of said work the
City 3�ngineer ahall report to the Council the total cost of said re-
pairin� and re-surfacing oF said portion of said etreet, the total
number vf linear feet of property fronting and abuttin� thereon and
the proportiona.te share oP such tota�l cost chaxgeable a�ainst each
lot, tract, or parcel oP land fronting and abuttinU on said portion
of said street in accordance with the provisiona of this ordinance.

SECTIO� 6; IIpon the filing of such report by the
City Tngineer the City Council ahall examine the ssme and if said
report be Pound to be cotrect and the total �ost of sa,id repsiring
� and re -surfacin� does not exceed sixty (`60�) eent8 per f�ont faot
upon all of the property fronting and abutting upon said portion of
aaid street, the Council ahall levy and assese a suecial taz againat
said �roperty in accordance with said report.
