NOW, THEREFOR.E, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUATCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: There is hereby levied as an annual license tax upon the privilege of engaging in the business of or conducting or operatzng a gas company �ithin the City of Cape Gira.rdeau the sum of THIRTEEN HUNDRED EIGHTY AND 00/100 DOLLARS (�13�0.00) per year. � SECTION �: There is hereby levd.ed as an annual license tax upon the privilege of engaging in the business of or conducting or operating an electric light or po�rer company within the City of Cape Girardeau the sum of T�0 THOUSAND SEVENTY-FIVE AND 00,1100 DOLLARS (��075.00) per year. SECTION 3: There is herebp levied as an annual license tax upon the privilege of engaging in the business of or conducting or � operating a water company within the City of Cape Girardeaa the sum � QO LLARS 1 5.00 er ear. of FIFTEEN HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE AND 00/1 DO (� 54 ) P Y � -�:>:�;��:��_��s�. .. , _..�;�- ., , : •r- _. .-: . . - - ��- F: �_ • • - SECTION �: That th� said annual license taxes hereinabove levied shall be payable in two installments, one-half of each shall be paid on or before the first day of June, and the remaining one-half on or b�fore the first day of December of each year hereafter. SECTION 5: That the present �ater and el�ctric rates no� being paid and which have been paid by the City of Cape Girardeau for a number of years to the Missouri Utilities Company for the use of water and eleetricity consumed by the City of Cape Girardeuu shall be continued without change and at the same rates for a period of ten (10) additional years from and after the enactment of this ord.inance, upon condition that the �issouri Utilities Company sha11 file ��ith the City Clerk, �ithin ten days from and after the enactment of this ordinance, its xritten acceptanee of all the terms hereof. Said rates are and shall continue to b� as follows: (a) 3¢ per gWH for all electricity used in public buildings, either owned or used by the City, and all signal and traffic lights, but exclusive of street lights. (b) The sum of �659.00 per month for the first 503 � � �� street lights no� inst�lled, and ��.00 per month for each , ��5�� additional �50-watt light now installed and now numbering ��, or that may hereafter be ordered by the City to be in- , sta.11ed, and �1.00 per month for each additional 100-�att light no� installed and now numbering L�.�, or that may here- after be ordered by the City to be installed. (c) The sum of �30.00 per year for the first 1�0 fire plug hydrants and ��5.00 per year for all fire plug hydrants either now in use or that may be hereafter ordered installed in excess of said 1g0 fire plug hydrants. (d) The sum of 4¢ per 1000-gallons for all water used by the City, exclusive of that taken from fire hydrants and used in combating fires or occasional flushing of congested sewers.
