BE IT ORDAINED BY TH� CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU !

�ECTION 1. That aection 4 of Article 8 oP Commission Form Ordinance '
Number 647, passed and approved on the 9th dayof �eptember 1932, ;
be and the same hereby is in all things repealed, and a new Section
to be known as Sectio�h 4 ( A) is hereby enacted�.and ordained in lieu ;
' thereof which said jection 4 ( A) shall read as follows, to wit: `
T "3�CTION 4 (h) - EXISTING BUII�DINC.� RAISED, ALTERED
OR REPA�ED: ':.ithin the Pire limits every existing
dwelling having a combustible rooP, when rais�d to `
produce an additional story, shall be provided with �
'+ an incombus�i.ble roof.
No buildin� within the fire limits
having masonry walls shall be enlar�ed or built upon ;
unless the addition to the exterior ti�alls a� be oP
approved incombuste.ble materials.
} No egisting building shall be altered
to exceed the limits of' Yheight and area provided by
this code for �ic ne�u buildin�;s of the same class
as that to tivhich the additions are made.
No frame n�.zilding �vithin the f ire limits
�: shall be increased ir �r�ea by frame additions, except
<' that frame extensions co be used exclusivzly for toilet
purposes may be permitted, v�ahen not in conflict with
health ordinances of the City, but such e�tension shall
have an approved roof conering.
�' �ny existing frame building -raithin the
f ire limits, which may� hereaf ter be damaged by fire,
decay or other�ise to an amount greater than one-half
of its present value, exclusive of the foundation,
shall not be repaired or re-built, but sh�ll be removed
�ECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect f'rom and
after the expiration of ten days from the date of passage or adoption
thereof.
