�J�3EREAS, by its oontract, duly authorized by ordinance, with
the City of �ape Girardeau, Missouri , w. P. �cGeor�e & Co���:any a�;r�:ed
ta impxove according to the terms in s€tiia eontract, Yainter Avenue
frorr� t3roadwa.y to 1nde�ender�e Stree� in said city witha.n a specified
tinze , which time is noti� abou� to expire, and

�EREAS, owing to e�cessive and c�ntinu�.l rainfall aurzn� a
large part of the time through �Ggy and June , 1924 and frec,usn� rains
to this date durin� the �onth of �uly, 1924, said period being the
time within whicYl the said w. P. �icueor�;e � Company h�.d to so improve
said street, and �
WHF.�EAS, during said r�iny season the city en�;ineer of said
City of Cape Uir�rde�u, who l�ad the superintending control over the
improvement of sa.id street by said contractar , was un�rillin� to take
the chance of putting down conerete for a perma,nent street upon a
soft subsuxface �nd was unwilling to cduse to be l�id a Iarge axnount
of concrete the ha,rdening of v�h3.ch waula necessa.rily be prevented and
interferred �rith by certain approaching rainfall, and
WHEREAS, the said r�. Y. �c�eor�e � Company, contractor, has,
because of such conditions beyond its control, been nscess�rily de-
layed in c�:rryring out its said contrac� v�ith said czty to im�xove that
part of said street �,s ��foresaid, and h�s recuested that the Council
grant it dn exten�ion of time for the performance of saia contract to
impro�e said street �

Cape Uirardeau, �issouri , be �iven an extensioi< of 90 d�.ys within which
ta camplete its cantr�ct with the city for s4id improvement . '
