BE IT ORDAIr?ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAP� GIRARDEAU, �dISSOURI,

SECTICN 1;- The word �Itinerant Vendor" for the gurpos� of thie Ordinance
ehall mean and include all per�ons both principal and a�ent, who en�age in, .
or cor.duct, in the City of Cape Girardeau, �dissouri � either in one locaZity
va in travelin� from place to place, a temporary or tranaient busine�s of sell.. ;
� ing goods, wares and merch&ndise, with the intention of cor.tinuing in euch
� business in any one place in said city for a period of not more than One
Hundred Twenty ( 120) days , and �o fdr the purpose of ca.rrying on such busi-
ness, hire, lea,se� or occupy, either in wh�le or in part, a room, building�
or other structure, for the eshibition for the sale of such goods� wares
and me�chandise, the provi�ions oP this Ordinance shall not apply to sales
made �o dealers by Commercial Travelexs or sellin� agents in the usual course
of business , nor to bona fide salee of goods, �vares and merchandiee by sample
for future delivery, nor to hawkers on the streeta, or peddler�+ from nehicles
nor to any sale of goods, wares ox merchandise on the grounda of any agricul.-
tural society during the continuance of any annual fair hel� by such society.
SE�TION 2�:- The license tax for Buch "Itinerant Vendor" ahall be as follows ;-
( 1) . sellin� or offering to sell from a stocic of �oode not exceeding
Ten Thousand ( �10,000) Dol].ara in value� a license tax of O�e Hundred ( �100.00)
Doliars.
( 2) .5ellin� or offerinE, to sell from a stoc� of gdods exceeding Ten
Thou�adn (�10 �000� Dollars in value, and not exceeding Twenty�five Thousand
(#25,000) Dollars in value, a license tax of �ne fiundred Fit'ty ( �150.0�)
Dol�.ar� .
( 3j . Selling or offering to sell from �, stock of goods exceeding
Tv�enty-five Thousand ( �25�000) Dollara in value, a nd not exceedin� Fifty
Thou�and ( �50,000) Dolla.ra in value� a license tax of Two Hundred Fifty
( �250.OQ) �ollare.
( 4) .Se111ng or offering to sell from a stock of goods exceeding Fift�
Thouaand ( �5� ,000) Dollars in value, a license tax of Five Hundred (�500.00)
Dollars.
SECTIOI� 3;- '�his Ordinance shall be in force and take effect from
and after its passa�e.
