in tne office of the city Clerk and adopt,�d � the city
Council of the cityrnof Cape Girardeau on�'!�!�ftr, da.y of
June, 1922. That the aaid reaolution was published for
e�even conaecutive days in a paper in the city of Cape Gira.rd�au
doing the city printing, �: da11y newspape�; that a. ma�ority
of resi�.ent ownera of lande tha.t would be liable for the
co$ta of the improvement� at tne da.te of the pas�age of the
resalution a.nd who ooeneG a ma�ority of' the front feet owned
by reai�ents of the city abuttin� on tne e�reet to be frripr�ved
did not within ten ds.ys after the publtcation of eaid -
reaolution, for fuli seven da.ys, file witn the city Clerk
their proteat a.gainst �uch improvem.ent.
Sec. 1. That the improvement of B roadway Street
from the East curb line of' ��ain Street to the �'est Curb Line

pavenent, be �nade; tnat the c;ity �;lerk aha.11 advertise t�or
bids to do the said worTc �.nd furn��l the material, a.t a price
no� in sxces� of the eatirnate,ma�e for the improveMent 3n�x
by the city engineer,and the wor� done a.nd materia.ls furnished
�hall be in compli�nce witn the plans and specific�+tions of �
t�1s city Enginee�r and filed with the city clerk; tne adve'rtise9at
for bid$ shall be pubiia:hed for two cansecutive weeka in a
weekly paper or seven caneecutive is�uea bfi a daily paper;
tha.t the contra.�t for doing the work shallbe let to the lowe$t
and best bidaer; tha:t tne said improve�ent enall be done and
perfor�ed in complfance ti�vitn Ordinance Num�er Fifty (50) a
general o�diance for atreet improvements; tn�.t the �rork ahall
be ctone under written contract and a. osrtified che�� of Fifty
Dollars be deposited witn the �ity Clerk at time of e�[beattin�
tne contract; that the contractnr sh�,ll accept in payment for
t,�e �ork done an� ma-terials furnished, special tax bills
a.ga.in�t the proverty fron�in� and abutting on the improvement.
That t�e tax 'biaie ehall be isaued a,nd deliverPd to the oontxaetor
after the work is completed� and accepted by the city En�ineer �
and Coaa�nissioner of Streets, and so reportred by file� sta.tement
of ca�pleti�n afi' the work filed in the of't'3ce of the City
Clerk.
