Wherea.s, a resolution, on �he;.�i'ifth day of June, �
1y22, filed in the affice of tne City Clerk of the City of Cape
` Girardeau and duly adopted by the Council of tne City of �ape
- Girardeau, on the aa-id �'ifth day of June, t922, deelared among
o�.�ex thinge, tha.t the improvenent of Themis SLreet frorn the
east curb Zine of �ain Street to the Weat end of tne Concrete
surfacing :qetween ���ain 5tree� and �'dater Street by rernoving the
wo�� i�lo�ks and resurfacin� with a reinforced concrete �oave�ent,
was a public necessity.
That by order of the City Council eaid reaolution �
wa.s published for seve:� consecutive days in a daily newspaper
in the city of Ca�e Girardeau, doin� the cdty printin� and that
no resident ownere of lande that wou2d be Iia.ble for the eoate
of the im�rove�nent �.t the date of the passage of the resolution,
did, witnin ten days,after the last pub�.ication of said reso2utian :

_ Section� 1. That no re�onstrance has been fi2ed �
= and tne improvement af that part of Therais Street from the East ,
curb Zine of ;�iain 3treet, to the west end of the conerete purf�.�
cing bet�veen .�,�ain Street and VPater atre�t �y resurfacing with
a xein�'�rced concrete pevement, ie a. public necee�ity and that -:
the impxove�ent be made, by removing the wood blocks thereon and �
b� reeurfaved with re�nforeed eoncrete pavement; that the City
Clerk a.dvertise for bids to do the �aid work, for two cansecutive
weeks in a weekly paper or seven conescutivs days in a daily
paper, published and doing '�Mhe city printing in the City of Cape
Girardeau. r�e eontract prias for doin� the wor'_t of the said im- y `
�rove:nent sha,ll not exceed the est3rnate therefor �uade by the City '
° Engineer of the City oa Cape Girardeau and the co�ntract for the
said iu►provement eahll be fully performed accordin� to plans and
specificatione therefor, prep�.red by the City Engineer and duly �
fil�d in the office of the City Clerk. The Contract for doin�; the ;
work shall be let to the 2oweet a.nd bee� bidder, in writin�, ac-
co�pa,nied by � certified c'rieck of Fifty Dol�aze� to be deposited
witt� the City Clerk and in all reapecte compl with the requirements
of• Carr�ni�sion form ordisance =�umber Fifty (50� pas�ed and approved
by the Council of the City of �ape Girardeau, �un�, 16, 1919.
When t,he i:nprovenient is corn�leted according to contract, p�ans
and epecifica.tions, accepted by the City Engineer and Commi�gioner
: of �tree�s, in writin� filed with the City Cl.erk, special tag hi11e
a�a.inst the property fronting or abutting on the improve�nent ehall
be i�ued a�nd 4elivered to the contractor in full and complete
payment for sai� improvenent.
This ord3na.nc� sha.11 be in fore and take efiect from
and a.fter its pasage.
