�' AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THD PARKIPIG OF AIITOI�OBILES,
WAGONS, BIIGGS�,S, CARTS, AND VEHICLES OF EVERY KTND,
iPt THE CITY OF CAPE (�IRAI�DEAII, �IISSOURI .
BE IT ORDAIPiED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GTRARDEAII, MISSOURI, AS FOLLO�fS :
Section 1. The �ollowing rules and regul�tions shall be
enforced Wi�hin the City of Cape Gir�rdeau, Missouri, between
the hours of eleven o'clack P.M. and sia o'clock in the morning
oP the foll�wing d.aY, except as otherwise mentioned herein:
' Section 2. The verb "to park" When used in this ordinanee

shall be taken to mean, to atand or store any vehicle on a
public higha�ay or street at a time �rhen it is not being loaded
or unloaded.
'j SeeLion 3. No autonob3le, wagon, buggy, cart, bus, dray,
I nor any vehicle of any kind shall park or be parked eonti.nuously
s�t tha same place upon any public etreet in the City of Cape

Girardeau, Missouri, for a longer period than t�ro hours, provided
this shall not apply to the fire department vehicles, nor to the
# �utomobile of a regul�rly liceneed doctor of inedictne rrhen sueh
vehicle is used in calling on sick patients, nor shall it apply
� to an�r vehiele o� broken mechanism, provided such vehicle of
broken a�eehanism shall be removed by the owner thereof within
' two haurs after being notified to remove the same by the Mayor
3 or ang member of the police foree, and if not removed �ithin
sueh time the o�ner shall be liable as provided in section seven
of this ordinance .
Section 4. No vehicle, unattended, sha1.1 be left standing
at any time �►ithin fifteen feet of a fire hydrant.
; Section 5. In no event shall any peraon at any time during

the day or night park any vehicle before any entrance of an�
store building, hotel or publie building for a longer period than

thf.rty minutes, provided ho�aever, that no person, firm or eor-
poration shall park or leave standing unatter�ded any vehicle before

j the entrance of the United States Post Offi�e, any hot�I, anq public
�
office building, city �ail, or fire department station at an�r time
day or night.
Seetion 6. No bugg� , , cart. , or wagon, shall be driven, op-
erated or parked on the streets of the Cit� of Cape Girardeau, in
accordance xith thie or any other ordinance of this ciLy noW in
4 ' force, during the period of time from one-:�alf hour before sun-set
and to one-half hour before sun rise the next mornin�, unless the
driver, oamer or operator thereoP shall displag at least one ligrted
Zamp on said vehicle .
Section 7. Any pe rson, firm or corporation violating or fail-
ing to comply with the provi�ions of this ordinance or the re�ula-
' � tions herein, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be
j fined not less than �5.00 nor more than �100 for each offense.
Provided, that any police offieer of this city, if he finds anq
automobile, buggy or cart pa.�ked on the �nbiic street� or on a pub-
lie street or thorofare of this city for a period of more than t�ro
'i hours bet�een eleven o'clock P.i�. and siz o'clock A.*�. the next day,

in violation of the conditions of th3s ordinance, may have said vehicle
�
� taken to the police station or other place for safe keeping and the
same shall not be released to the o�ner until the fine and costs in
; his case have been paid for the violation oP this ordinance, and
g in addition thereto the sum of fift� cents pe r daq for the storage
charges on said vehicle .
Section 8 . This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after �he first day ef Gct,ober I917.
