Any person, firm or corporation engaged in �he sale of dry '
goods, boots and shoes or any other article or commodity, misrepresenting '

the same to unsuspec ting cus tomers, or who by any induc emen� persuades
customers into buyir� shoddy and inferior goods under the pretended guarantee
that such �oods are of a dif�erent or better grade, shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereoi shall be fined not less than �'

or mixed with any substance containing matter or anything poisonous deleter-
ious or in�urious to health, or to so offer or sell any article oi food or j
drink that is not �ust what it in i.ts purity is held out or represented to

Any per�on, firm or corporation whose duty it is to make a
sworn statemen� of the amount of stock of �ooda for the purpose of advalorem
� taxes, and file same with the City Clerk, and who makes a false statement
�hall be deemed �;uilty of a m�sdemeanor and upon conviction thereof be fined
in a sum of not less than �5.00 nor more than ';100.00. �

SEC?'ION 14�b. INSPECTOR OF ':xJEIGHTS ANr n:1�ASU?�ES DUTY �r0 EN�'ORCE.
It is hereby made the duty of the Inspector of '.'leights and
Measures to see that �ection 141 to 146 inclusive are duly enforced, and in �
the enforeement of the same said officer is hereby given the authority of a
- regular poliee o�fiQer, He shall have authority to make the necessary in- =
vestigation, inspection or inventory, and any effart on �he part of any pers� '

to hinder, delay or prevent said officer in �he discharge of his duties shall ';

be deemed a misdemeanor and upon con��ic tion thereof shall be punished by a �
fine of not less than �5.00 nor more than �50.00. He shall have authority to �
make arrests, and wi thout a warrant be�ing issued 'oy the Police T��agistrate, �
should it become neeessary in the ent'orcement ot' any ot the provisions of
�his ordinance. �
