AN ORDIN�NCE AMENDING CONiMISSION FORN ORDINANCE
N0. 1189, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 2�TH DAY
OF FEBRUFRY, 19�,9, BY ADDING TO SECTION 5'7
THEREOF, AS AMENDED, THE AUTHORITY FOR THE �HIEF
OF POLICE TO ERECT ADDITION�L STOP SIG1V'S AND
PROVIDING � PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE TT ORDAINED BY TFiE CITY COU�CIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MI5SOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l: That Commission Form Ordinance No . llg9,
passed and approved by the �ity Council of the City of Cape
Girardeau, T:issouri, on the 2�th day of February, 1949, be,
and the same is hereby amended by adding to Section 57 thereof,
as amended , Sub-section �,9, which shall follow immediately
after Sub-section 48, and which shall read as follows:
"At the intersection of Fountain and
North Streets, a sign shall be located at or
near the northwest corner of the intersection
with the word iSTOP � facing north."
SECTION 2: Any person who shall violate any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a
fine of not less than One Dollar (�1.00) nor more than One
Hundred Dollars (�100.00) , or imprisonment in the city jail for
not less than ten (10) days nor more than three (3) months, or
by both such fine and imprisonment, together with the costs of
prasecution unless otherwise stated and made a part of this
ordinance.
Passed and approved this 9th day of July, 1956.
