AN ORDI NANCE AMEAID I NG COMMI SS I ON F ORM ORDI ATANCE
N0. 1189, PASSED .AND APPROVED ON THE 28th DAY
OF FEBRUARY, 1949, BY A➢DING TO SECTIQN 57
THEREOF� AS AMENDED, THE AUTHORITY FOB THE
CHIEF OF POI,ICE TO ERECT ADDITIONAL STOP SIGNS
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE �ITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOIIRI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Commission Form Ordinance No, llg9,
passed and approved by the City Council of the �ity of �ape
Girardeau� Missour3 on the 2gth day of February, 1949, be, and
the same is hereby� amended by adding� to Section 57 thereof, as
amended , Sub-section 47, which shall follow immediately after
Sub-section l�6, and which shall read as follows:
"At the intersection of William and
Louisiana Streets, a sig�n shall be located at
or near the northwest corner of the intersection
w3th the word tSTOP� facing north, and � sign
shall be located at or near the so�atheast corner
of the intsxsection with the word �STOPt facing
sauth. "
SECTION 2: Any person who shall violata any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a
fine of not less than One Dollar (�1. 00) nor more than One
Hundred Dollars (�lOQ. 00) , or imprisonment in the city 3ail for
not less th�n ten (10) days nor more than three (3) months or
by both such fine and imprisonment, together with the costa of
prosec�tion unless otherwise �tated and mad� a part of this
ordinance.
