AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COMMISSION FORM ORDINANCE N0. 1722 ,
PASSED AND APPROVED AUGUST 3 , 1956 BY REPEALING SECTION
16 OF SAID ORDINANCE RELATING TO ADVERTISING FOR BIDS
AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW PROVISION FOR ADVER—
TISING FOR SEALED BIDS FOR CONTRACT FOR THE COLLECTIC�N
OF GARBAGE AND RUBBISH AND CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION 1 : Section 16 of Commission Form Ordinance No. 1722
passed and approved on the 3rd day of August , 1956 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2 : In lieu of Section 16 of Commission Form Ordinance
No. 1722 , there is enacted the fo11c•��ring provision :
The City Clerk shall advertise for sealed bids for
any work to be done by contract under the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1722 to be published for six consecutive
publications in a daily newspaper published or having
general circulation and distribution in the City of Cape
Girardeau , Missouri . Thec�te and time for opening bids m� y
be set for any time subsequent to the last publication.
SECTION 3: A11 other provisions of Commission Form Ordinance
No. 1722 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4 : The provisions of this ordi�nance being necessary
for the preservation of the public peace , health and safety, this
ordinance shall be in effect from and after its passage and a�oval .
