AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30. 3 AND SECTION 30. 55
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU BY ESTABLISHING THE ZOIVING OF CERTAIN
ANNEXED AREA TO THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU AS A
ONE FAMZLY DZSTRICT
WHEREAS, on September 5, 1967, an election carried which provided
for the annexation of certa.in land to the City of Cape Girardeau, and the afficial
count thereof has been made and the Council of the City of Cape Girardeau has
found that said election passed and
WHEREAS, such nev�r land added to the limits of the City of Cape
Girardeau ha.s not been zoned by the City of Cape Girardeau, but should be
zoned A One Family District until a znore coxnprehensive zoning plan can be
promulgated and established providing for long range zoning in said annexed
area, and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest af the citizens of Cape
Girardeau that said area be zoned A One Family District until a comprehensive
zoning plan can be promulgated and established by the CQuncil of the City of
Cape Girardeau, Missouri,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 30. 55 and Section 30. 3 af the Code af Ordinances
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Miasouri, is hereby amended by adding to the
boundaries of A One Family District, the following described real estate:
All of the land lying in Townships 30 and 31 North, Ranges
13 and 14 East of the County of Cape Girardeau, State of
Miss�uri, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the East right-of-way line of
Interstate Route I-55, said point being at right angles to

Station 1021�-67 on the centerline median of said highway,
said point also being 500 feet measured at right angles
from the east bound lane of U. S. Route 61; thence on a
line parallel to and 500 feet from said centerline of the
east bound lane of said U. S. Route 61 �o:the end of said
east bound lane; thence conti.�uing on a line parallelto
and 5Q0 feet from the centerline of U. S. Route 61 to the
south line of Section 23, Twp. 31 N. , Rge. 13 E. ; thence
with the south line of said Section 23 to the we st right-
of-way line of State Route W; thence northerly and east-
wardly with said we st and north right-of-way line to the
north line of said 5ection 23; thence east with the north
line of said Section 23 and the north line of U. S. Survey
2198 to the northeast corner of said Survey 2198; thence
south with the east line of said survey 2198 to the existing
City Limits of the City of � ape Girardeau; thence
eastwardly with said city limits to the west right-of-way
line of State Route V; thence northerly and eastwardly with
said right-of-way line to the point of intersection with
the east right-of-way line of Cape Rock Drive extended;
thence south with said east right-of-way line of Cape Rock
Drive to the center af Juden Creek; thence with the center
of said creek to the low water mark of the Mississippi River;
thence in a southwe st dire ction along the we st bank of the
Mississippi River to its intersection with the present north
corporate limits of the City of Cape Girardeau, Mis souri;
thence we st along the existing north corporate limits to the
narthwe st corner of said corporate limits; thence south-
wardly and eastwardly along the existing corporate limits
to its intersection with the north right-of-way line of the
St. Louis and S. F. Railroad; thence in a southwest direction
along the north right-of-way line of the St. Louis & S. F. R. R.
to its intersection with the east right-of-way line of Interstate
Route No. I-55; thence in a northwe st direction along the east
right-of-way line of Inter state Route No. I-55 to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that the
property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present time particularly
suitable for the uses and purposes of Class A, One Family District, and that
such addition authorized hereby is reasonable and in reasonable conforxnity
with the exis.ting uses and values of the immediately surrounding properties.
SECTION 3. This ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, he alth and safety and sha.11 take effect and be in force from

Passed and approved this 6th day of September, 1967.
