AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 35. 21 OF THE GENERAL
ORDTNANCE5 OF THE CITY OF GAPE GTRARDEAU, PROVIDING
FOR TOWING ILLEGALLY OB5TRUCTING VEHICLE5 AND DIS-
i�OSAL OF SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, as follows:
5ECTION 1. Section 35. 21 of the general ordina.nces af the City of
' Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended by adding thereto aection
35. 21-Aa as follows:
"SECTION 35. 21-A. When such motor vehicle as de acribed herein
shall be removed and impounded and when such motor vehicle
ahall be abandoned as defined in Commission Form Ordinance No.
2488 and sha,ll be abandoned and removed for a period of thirty
(30) consecutive days, such vehicle ahall be sold by the City of
Cape Girardeau at the direction of the City Manager, and the
proceeds of such sale retained by auch city to defray the costs af
removal and storage and other incidenta.l expense s incident to the
removal and storage coats involved. Such motor vehicle ahall be
sold after said period of 30 �ca�secutive days only if no claim ha.s
been made by the owner of such motor vehicle or his agent or
designated representative for the return of said motor vehicle upon
the compliance by auch owner with the provisions of the general
ordinances of the City af Cape Girardeau. "
"SECTION 35. 21-B. The City Manager of the City of Cape Girardeau
shall direct the holding of an auction one time every ninety (90) days
for the purpose of selling any and all motor vehicle s removed, im-
pounded and stored as provided for in Section 35. 21-A. All such

motor vehicles removed, impounded and stored as provided
for in Section 35. 21-A shall be s•old at such auctian at the
direction of the City Manager and the proceeds received there-
fram used to defray the costa of removal of such vehicle and
starage and other incidental expenses incident to the removal
and atarage and sale. 5uch auction sha.11 be advertiaed at the
discretion of the City Manager and at least one auction for the
sale of such vehicle sha.11 be held each 90 days at a time and
place as may be chosen by the City Manager. "
SECTTON 2. This ordi.nance shall be in full force and take effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
