AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 35. 24 (B}(1} BY PR O-
VIDING FOR A RIGHT TURN AFTER STOP ON A RED TRAFFIC
LIGHT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 35. 24 (B) (1) is hereby amended so that
said section as amended shall read as follows:
"5ECTION 35. 24 (B) (1). Signal indication RED alone means
STOP. Vehicular traffic facing the signal shall ��'OP before
entering the nearest cross-walk at an intersection or at such
other points as may be indicated by a clearly visible line, and
shall remain standing until signal indication Green alone is
shown, except that vehicular traffic facing the signal which
intends to turn right at the intersection shall atop before entering
the nearest cross-walk or at such other points as may be indicated
by a clearly visible line, and if the way is clear from the left,
may then turn right only, notwithsta.nding the showing of the
signal indication as Red. All other vehicular traffic facing such
signa.l shall remain standing until signa.l indication Green alone
is shown and all traffic which contemplates turning right shall
never turn right while facing the signal indication red after stopping
unless the way is clear from the left. No pedestrian facing such a
signal shall enter the roadway unless he can do so safely and without
interfering with any vehicular traffic. "
SECTION 2. This ordina.nce shall be in full force and take effect ten
days after its passage and approval.
