AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAPE GIRARDEAU BY CHANG-
ING THE ZONING OF AN AREA NORTH OF BELLEVUE STREET
EAST OF PACIFIC STREET AND SOUTH OF NORMAL AVENUE
AND MILL STREET TO CLASS E COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended
tha.t all of the property described in Section 1 of this o.rdina,nce should be re-
zoned Class E Commercial District, and
WHEREA�, public notice of such change in zoning was given as
prescribed by Chapter 25 of the general ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau
and public he ar ing was held in conformity with such notice by the City Council
on the lst day of June, 1966,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 25 of the general ordinances of the City of
Ca.pe Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the boundary of the
present Class E Commercial District so�as to include the following described
property:
Begin at a point on the North right of way line of Bellevue
Street extended and the low water mark of the Mississippi
River; thence in a westerly direction along the north right
of way line of Bellevue Street to the intersection of the East
right of way line of Pacific Street for a point; thence in a
northerly direction along the east right of way lineof Pacific
Street to the intersection of such line with the South right of
way line of Normal Avenue for a point; thence in a general
easterly direction along the south right of way line of Normal
Avenue and continue east along the south right of way line
of Washington Avenue as Normal Avenue extends eastwardly
into Washington Avenue, to a point where such line inter-
sects the East right of way line of Fountain Street to a point;
thence in a northerly direction along the east right of way
line Qf Founta.in Street to a point where such line intersects the
south line of Mill Street for a point; thence in a general east-
wardly direction along the sauth right of way line of Mill Street
and Mill Street extended to a point on the low water mark at
the intersection of such line and the Misaissippi River; thence
in a general southerly direction along the low water mark of
the Mississippi River to the point of beginning.

SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that the
property described in Section 1 thereof is at the present time particularly
suita.ble for the uses and purposes of Class E Commercial District, and that
such change authorized hereby is reasonable and in reasonable conformity with
the existing use and value of the iznmediately surrounding properties.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten
days after its passage and approval.
