AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME FOR THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MI5SOURI
WHERE?.S, the State of Illinois, the City of S� Louis, numerous
cities and towns in the 5tate of Misaouri, and rnany cities along the eastern sea-
board of t,he United States have adopted Daylight Saving Time, and
WHEREA5, there is a substantial demand among the citizens of Cape
Girardeau for the adoption of Daylight Saving Time in said city in order to avoid
confusion by having the time in the various communitities coincide inasmuch as is
possible,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, as follows:
SECTION 1 - Tha.t Daylight Saving Time is hereby adopted as the
official time for the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the period commencing
April 25th, 1965 at 2:00 o�clock A. M. , and ending October 31st, 1965, at 2:00 o�clock
A. M.
SECTION 2 - That Daylight 5aving Time is hereby adopted as the official

time for the City of Cape Girardeau, Misbouri for the similar time /}j1�966 and each
year thereafter, said specific beginning times of each year and ending times of each
year to correspond with the times set by the City of S� Louis, Miesouri, so that
Daylight Saving Time in Cape Girardeau shall correspond exactly with the Daylight
Saving Time enacted for the City of St Louis, Missouri.
SECTION 3 - All clocks. watches and ti.me pieces in the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri shall be advanced one hour at 2:�0 o'clock A. M. on the 25th
day of April, 1965, and on aimilar dates in each year thereafter, in accordance
with the time as may be established by the City of 5t. L�uis, Missouri, and as set
out by this Ordinance.
SECTION 4 �- All cloa�ks, watches and time pieces in the City of Cape
Girardeau shall be turned back one hour at 2:00 otclock�.M. on October 31st,

1965 and on each similar date of each succeeding year, in accordance with the
comparable time set out for the City of S� Louis in the provi�ions of this
Ordina.nce.
SECTION 5 � All ordinances and parts of ordinances in confl�ct with
the provisions hereof are hereby repealed.
5ECTION 6 - This Ordinance shall ta.ke effect and be in force from
and after ten �10) days after its passage and approval.
