AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15. 19 BY ADDING 5ECTION
15. 19 G RELATING TO ENGINEERING FEES AND ATTORNEY FEES AS
INCORPORATED IN SPECIAL TAX BILLS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CIT Y OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MI550URI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 15. 19 of the General Ordinances of Cape Girardeau is
hereby amended by the addition �f Section 1.5. 19 (g) which new subsection 15. 19 (g)
reads as foll�ws:
When assessments made for constructing and repairing side-
walks and sidewalk curbing and for sewers and for gradixig, paving,
excavating, macadamizing, curbing and guttering of any street,
avenue, alley, square or other highway or part thereof, and re-
pairing the same, or for any other improvement authorized by the
Statutes of the State of Missouri, such assessments sha.11 be known
as Special Assessments for Improvements and shall be levied and
collected as a special tax and a special tax bill shall issue therefor
and be paid in the manner provided by ordinance. These special
tax bills may in:clude attorney's fees or engineering fees or both
when provided by ordinance, with the total of these fees not to ex-
ceed 10% of the tota.l cost of the improvement, and such fees may
bear n�t to exceed 8% interest per annum from 60 days after the
date of iasue until paid.
Section 2. This �rdinance shall be in f�rce and take effect ten days
after its passage and approval.
