AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 33 OF THE
GENERAL ORDINANCES OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
RELATII�r TO THE E�TABLISHMEIVT OF A MAXIMUM
NUMBER OF LIQUOR BY THE DRINK LICENSES TO BE
ISSU E D.
BE IT OEtDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 - Subsection B of Section 33. 08 of the General Ordinances
of Cape Girardeau, is h�reby repealed, and there is enacted in lieu thereof a
new Subsection B, and Subsection C, and 5ubsection D of said Section 33. 08, to
read as follows:
B. No license for the sale of intoxicating liquor in excess
of 5% by weight and by the drinlc shall hereafter be
granted when the granting thereof will increase the
number of such licenses outstanding and in force
to a greater number than 18, except as may be pro-
vided by Subsection C hereina.fter.
C. A license f or the sale �f intoxicating liquor in exce s s
of 5'jo by weight and by t12e drink may be grated in
accordance with the other provisions of this Section
for each 15�0 persons or major fraction thereof wha
are residents of the City. The number of residents
of the City shall be determined by United States
Census.
D. No person shall be issued more than one license for
the sale of intoxicating liquor in excess of 5% by
weight and by the drink. Person shall ianclude a
male or female, or member of their immediate
family, partner ships, corporations, and corp�rations
any stockholder of which may have a personal license.
The provisions of this subparagraph shall not apply to
the holder s of license s at the time of the p�.s sage of
this subsection.
5ection 2 - This ordinance sha.11 be in force and take effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
