AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU BY �TRZKING OUT THERE,FROM 5ECTION 8-15
AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION IN LIEU THEREOF SETTING NEW FEES FOR
OPENING GRAVES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURT, A5 FOLLOWS:
5ECTION l. Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended by repealing Section 8-15.
SECTION 2 . That a new section is enacted in lieu of
Section 8-15 which reads as follows:
Sect'ion 8-lS. Fees 'for openirig graves .
(a) There shall be a charge for t:ne opening
of a grave �rhich amount shall be paid to the City
Clerk by the funeral director not later than the
tenth (lOth) day of the month follo�ring the
grave opening, as follows:
Mausoleum burial permit-----------------$ 55. 00
Single adult space---------------------- 55. Q0
Infant grave (3 feet or less) ----------- 20. OQ
(b) Of the amount received for grave
opening as set out in the previous subsection (a) ,
the city shall receive Twenty Dollars ($2Q. 00)
and the sexton Thirty-Five Dollars ($35.00)
except for infant grave openings the city shall
receive Ten Dollars ($lO .OQ) and the sexton
Ten Dollars ($10 .Q0) .
(c) Burial in any city owned cemetery
shall be in a casket enclosed in a wooden box
or a vault of concrete or meta�.

SECTTON 3. Thi:s ordinance shall be %n full force and
effect ten (1Q) days after its passage and approval.
