AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF BOUNDARY STREET
FROM A POINT AT THE EAST END OF BOUNDAR.Y STREET JUST WEST
OF THE MISSOURI QACIFIC RAILROAD EXTENDED IN AN EASTERLY
DIRECTION ACROS5 THE MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILROAD AND THE
S. L. AND S . F . RA.ILROAD IN THE VILLAGE OF GIRARDEAU TO A
POINT WE5T OF THE SANITARY LANDFILL OF CZTY SANITATION, INC .
IN ACCORDANCE WTTH PLANS FILED BY THE CITY ENGINEER OF THE
CTTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI

V�THEREAS, Boundary Street has been platted and portions
of i,t have previously been opened to a point immediately
West of the Missouri Pacific Railroad i.n the Village of
Girardeau; and,
TnTHEREAS, there exists dedicated right-of--way
for Boundary 5treet across the Missouri Pacific Railroad
and the S. L. and S. F. Railroad, which heretofore has
not been opened; and,
WHEREAS, there a.s a public need to construct an
all�weather road to service the Sanitary Landfill operation
of City Sanitation, Inc. which was previously approved
by the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri;
and,
WHEREA5, the proposed road is the more direct
route to this area v,�hich will provide access for the
public to use the sanitary landfill; and,
WHEREAS, this road will be constructed by private
contract under City supervisa�on at no cost to the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CAPE GIRA.RDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. Boundary Street is to be extended in
accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by
the City Engineer �rith all costs to be paid by a private
contractor �ith the City Engineer to supervise and inspect
this work to see that it complies with his plans and
specifi.cations.

SECTION 2. The City Manager of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, is hereby authorized to enter into with the Missouri Pacific
Railroad and the S. L. and S. F. Railroad, Agreements cancerning the
construction and maintenance of these grade crossings, to secure from
the Public Service Commission the necessary authority to cross these
railroads, and to take all other necessary steps to obtain these
crossings.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
