AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN DEFECTIVE SIDEWALKS AND GIVING
NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS OF CONDEMIVATION OF DEFECTIVE 5IDEiiVALKS IN
THE CITY OF CAPE GIRA.RDEAU, MI5SOURI, ON PACIFIC 5TREET, BROADWAY
TO WATKINS DRIVE, ON BOTH SIDE5 OF 5TREET AND PROVIDING FOR THE
REMOVAL OF SAID 5IDEWALKS .AND THE CON5TRUCTION OF NEW SIDEWALKS IN
THE PLACE OF SAID SIDEWALKS SO CONDEMNED .AND REMOVED
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. That the existing sidewalks which are defective
on both sides of Pacific Street, Broadway to tnTatkins Drive be, and
the same hereby are, condemned and ordered removed, and new sidewalks
in place of said sidewalks so condemned and so removed be constructed
in place of said sidewalks so condemned and removed.
SECTION 2 . That the property owners whose property abuts on
said defective sidewalks so condemned and so ordered removed, be
notified by the City Engineering Office of the passage of this
ordinance; and that said property owners be advised in such notice
to remove said defective sidewalks and construct new sidewalks in
accordance with standard plans and specifications for sidewalk
construction, within thirty (30) days aftex receipt of such notice;
and that said property owners be further advised in said notice that
if said defective sidewalks are not removed and new sidewalks con-
structed in accordance with said standard plans and specifications for
sidewalk construction within thirty (30) days after receipt of said
notice, that the City Council will provide for by ordinance for the
removal of said defective sidewalks and the construction of new
sidewalks in accordance with the applicable statutes of the State of
Missouri at the cost of the abutting property owners .
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
