SECTTON l. No �erson shall individuallX or in concert �,�rith
others intentionally hindex, block, or obstruct in any manner
whatsoeder the entrances, exits, corridor�, passage�orays, halls, staa.rs
or aisles in a public building or publi:c off�ce so as to interfere
�rrith the use of sucIz areas, nor shall any� persron individually or in
concert witI�. other intentionally hinder, bTock, or obstruct in any o£t��e

manner what�oever,� so as to interfere with the access to and from ��
public building or publi,c office.

SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for an� person individuallX
or in concert with others to intentionally occupx a public building or
publa,c of�ice so as to i.nterfere with the conduct of business after
the person or persons have been requested to leave and cease such
interference, b� a public official or police officer.
SECTION 3. It shall be unlaHrful for an�r person, individually
or in concert �rith others to intent�.onally occupy or remain in. a
public building or public office after the public buiTding or public
office has been closed for business by a public official, police
officer, or bX a duly authorized employee in charge of such public
building or public office, after being requested by a public official,
police ofti,cer or a duly authorized employee to remove themselves
from the public buildi_ng or public office.
SECTION 4. Penalties. Any person violating any of the
provisions of th.is, ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be fined an amount not exceeding
One Hundred Dollars ($100.Q0) or to be imprisoned in the Cape
Girardeau City Jail for a period not exceedi�ng ninetx (90) days or
be both so fi.ned and impris;oned.

SECT�ON 5. Se:parabi:li;ty�. zf an�r �ection, subsection,
sentence, claus�e:, phrase: or portion o�' tFxi:s� ordi,nance is for any
reason held i,nvalid or unconst�tutional b�r any Court of compete.nt
jurisdi�ction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct,
and independerit provision and such hold�ng s�hall not a�fect the
validity of tTie remaining portions hereof.
SECTION 6. Reriun�bering. It is the intenti.on of the governing
bod�r and it i,� here,by ordai,ned that th.e provi�ion� of this ordinance
shall become and be made a part of the Code o� Ordinances, CitX
of Cape Gi.rardeau, Mi.s:souri, and the sections of this Code may be
renumbered to accomplish such intention.
SECTION 7. Events: maX occur at anX time so that it is
necessary �or the immediate pxeservation o� tFie public peace,
property, health and safety and create a state o� emergency, thexefore,
this ordinance shall take e�fect immediatel�r upon its passage and
approval.
