AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , BY CHANGING THE ZONING
OF PART OF U. S . 5URVEY NO. 173, TOWNSHIP 30, RANGE 13, CITY
AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, STATE OF MISSOURI, FROM
M-2 TO R-1
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1
of this Ordinance should be rezoned from M-2 Heavy Industrial
District to R-1 Single-Family Dwelling District; and
WHEREA5, Public Notice of such change was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and public hearing was held on
Wednesday, November 15 , 1972; and
WHEREA5, the Council of the City of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in
Section 1 from M-2 Heavy Industrial DistriCt to R-1 5ingle-Family
Dwelling District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MI550URI , AS FOLLOWS:
5ECTION 1. Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended to change the
boundary of the present R-1 5ingle Family Dwelling District so
as to include the following desCribed property:
All of U.5 . Survey No. 173, Township 30,
Range 13, lying West of U. S . 61 Hightaay, East
of 5ilver Springs Road and South and West of
the KGMO tract, containing 110 acres , more or
less, in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri .
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares
that the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the
present time particularly suitable for the purposes and uses
of R-1 Single-Family Dwelling District, and that such changes
authorized hereby are reasonable and in reasonable conformity
with the existing uses and value of the immediately surrounding
properties.

SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect ten days after its passage and approval.
