AN ORDINANCE REAFFIRMING THE ACTION OF THE CITY HEALTH
INSPECTOR IN ABATING NUISANCES AT 734 SOUTH RANNEY, 720
MERRIWETHER AND 213� SHERWOOD, IN THE CITY OF CAPE GIR.ARDEAU,
MI550URI, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE COST OF 5AME
BY THE IS5UANCE OF 5PECIAL TAX BILLS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRA.RDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, hereby reaffirms the actions of the City
Health Officer in abating nuisances in the form of tall weeds
on the parcels of ground in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri,
known as 734 South Ranney, 720 Merriwether, and 2138 5herwood,
and respectively described as follows:
1. 734 South Ranney.
Lot 5, 0utlot 47, Giboney Houck ' s 5econd
Subdivision to the City of Cape Girardeau.
2. 720 Merriwether.
The west 40 feet of the east 80 feet of lot 37,
Range B in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri,
which said property may also be described as follows :
All of that part of lot 37 in Range B as laid off
and described in the city map of Cape Gi.rardeau,
Missouri, commencing at a point on Merriwether
Street 60 feet east from the southwest corner of
said lot 37 (being 60 feet east of the intersection
of Merriwether Street and Ellis 5treet in the City
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri) ; thence run east along
the sauth line of said lot 37, a distance of
. 40 feet for the point of beginning of the lot
hereby conveyed; thence run east 40 feet along
the south line of said lot 37 for a corner; thence
run north 120 feet; thence run west 40 feet; thence
south 120 feet to the north line of Merriwether
Street; thence run east 40 feet to the place
of beginning. Said lot fronts 40 feet on Merriwether
Street by a depth of 120 feet. 5aid house on said
property is also known as 720 Merriwether Street.
3. 21.38 Sherwood.
Lot 19 , Block 3, Sherwood Hil1s 5econd Subdivision
to the City of Cape Girardeau, as recorded in
Book 290 at Page 979 in the land records of
Cape Girardeau County, Missouri .
SECTION 2 . The City Health Inspector having reported
to the City Council all costs and expenses incurred by the City
in abating the nuisances on the above describ�d tracts , in the
amounts of:

Tract 2: $28.00,
Tract 3: $30 . 25 ,
the Council hereby adopts the said report and levys and assesses
a special tax against the said properties in accordance with
said report.
5ECTION 3. The City Clerk is authorized to issue special
tax bills in favor of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri,
and shall be payable from and after sixty (60) days from the
date of issue, and said tax bills shall provide that if they
are not paid when due, they shall bear interest at the rate of
eight per cent (8�) per annum, and shall become immediately
due and payable.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after ten days following its passage and approval.
