AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GENERAL WARRANTY DEED FROM JETT Mc.
L. JENKIN5 AND MARCELINE JENKINS, FOR PAR.T OF BLOCK 1, McLAUREN
HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION, CITY AND COUNTY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, 5TATE OF
MISSOURI, FOR STREET RIGHT-OF- WAY TO OPEN, CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN
NEW MADRID STREET, FROM HENDERSON AVENUE TO ILLINOIS AVENUE
WHEREAS, Jett Mc. L. Jenkins and Marceline Jenkins, his
wife, have executed a General Warranty Deed, conveying to the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, part of Block l, McLauren
Heights 5ubdivision, in the City and County of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri , as more fully described hereinafter in this Ordinance,
and the City desires to accept such deed and have the same
re cor de d;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOT�]S:
SECTION 1. The City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, hereby
accepts a General Warranty Deed executed by Jett Mc. L. Jenkins
and Marceline Jenkins, his wife, conveying to the City of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, the following described real estate located
in the City and County of Cape Girardeau, Missouri:
Part of Block l, McLauren Heights 5ubdivision,
City and County of Cape Girardeau, State of Missouri ,
being the South 50 feet of Block 1 of said McLauren
Heights Subdivision.
ALSO, a temporary construction easement for placing
roadway fill and adjusting drainage over:
Part of Block l, McLauren Heights Subdivision,
City and County of Cape Girardeau, State of Missouri
described as follows:
Begin at the northeast corner of Illinois Avenue
and New Madrid Street; thence north along the east line
of Illinois Avenue , 20 feet; thence east, parallel to
the north line of Normal Heights Subdivision and said
line extended west, 95 feet; thence north, parallel
to the east line of Illinois Avenue, 20 feet; thence
east, parallel to the north line of Normal Heights
5ubdivision, 100 feet; thence north, parallel to the
east line of Illinois Avenue , 10 feet; thence east,
parallel to the north line of Normal Heights , 200
feet; thence south, parallel to the east line of
Illinois Avenue , l0 feet; thence east, parallel to
the north line of Normal Heights Subdivision, 175
feet, more or less, to the west line of Henderson
Avenue; thence south along the west line of Henderson
Avenue to a point which is 50 feet north of the
north line of Normal Heights Subdivision; measured

normal thereto; thence west, parallel to the north
line of Normal Heights Subdivision, 590 feet, more or
less , to the point of beginning.
All rights of the City in the temporary construction
easement to forever cease upon completion of the
construction of New Madrid Street from Henderson
Averiue to Illinois Avenue.
SECTION 2 . The General Warranty Deed hereby conveyed as
described in Section 1 hereof is for the purpose of enabling the
City, its agents, servants and assigns to operi, construct, and
maintain New Madrid 5treet from Henderson Averiue to Illinois
Avenue, in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
SECTION 3 . It is ordered by the Council of the City of
Cape Girardeau that said deed be recorded by the City Clerk in
the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Cape Girardeau County,
Missouri.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
