AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PART OF SECTION 26-153 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MI5SOURI, RELATING
TO CITY MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE5
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOW5:
SECTION 1. That portion of Section 26-153 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, reading as
follows:
"Every person residing in the city owning and
operating a motor vehicle within the limits of the
city, except as herein provided, shall secure from the
city clerk a license plate or sticker for such purpose,
upon which there is hereby assessed and the city clerk
shall collect the following fees: "
is hereby repealed and a new portion of Section 26-153 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is
enacted in lieu thereof, re ading as follows:
"Every person residing in the city, owning, and
either operating or permitting another to operate a
motor vehicle within the limits of the city, except
as herein provided, shall secure from the city clerk
a license plate or sticker for such purpose, upon
which there is hereby assessed and the city clerk
shall collect the following fees: "
SECTION 2 . If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitutional by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions hereof.
SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
