AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26-45 (d) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MI5SOURI, BY ADDING TWO NEW
SENTENCES THERETO RELATING TO PLACEMENT OF SIGNS FOR TRA.FFIC
CONTROL BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OR STREET DEPARTMENT OR MISSOURI
STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRA,RDEAU, MISSOURI, P,S FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 26-45 (d) of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following:
"The Police Department or Street Department or
the Missouri State Highway Patrol may erect signs
temporarily prohibiting any traffic on a street, alley,
thoroughfare, highway, or other public way in the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri . When suCh signs
have been erected to prohibit traffiC on, along or
over such street, alley, thoroughfare, highway or
other public way, a person shall not disobey the
instructions given by such signs. °'
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitutional by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions hereof.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shal.l be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
