AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26-210 (c) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRA.RDEAU, MISSOURI, BY ADDING TWO NEW SENTENCES
THERETO, RELATING TO TRAVEL ON ONE-WAY STREETS OF MORE THAN ONE LANE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIR.ARDEAU, MIS50URI, AS FOLLOV+T5:
SECTION l. 5ection 26-210 (c) of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby amended by
adding two new sentences thereto, to read as follows:
"The operator shall drive his vehicle as
nearly as practicable entirely within a single
lane and shall not move his vehicle from that lane
until the driver has first ascertained that such
movement can be made with reasonab le safety. A
left-hand turn from a one-way street consisting
of more than one (1) traffic lane shall be made
from the left-hand traffic l.ane of such one-way
street . "
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitution al by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions hereof.
SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval.
