AN ORDINANCE REPEALING 5ECTION 2-2, WARD BOUNDARIE5, OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCE5 OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MI550URI, AND ENACTING
A NEW 5ECTION 2-2 IN LIEU THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI, A5 FOLLOW5:
SECTION l. Sect�on 2-2, Ward Boundaries , of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby
repealed and one new Section enacted in lieu thereof to be known
as 5ection 2-2, to read as follows:
"Sec. 2-2. Ward boundaries .
The city of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is hereby
divided into eighteen (18) wards for registration and
all election purposes . The boundaries of said wards
shall be as follows:
(a) Ward No. l. Begin at the intersection of the west
bank of the Mississippi River and the north line of
First Street, extended East; thence West with the
extension of the North line of First Street, and its
North line, to the west line of Big Bend Road; thence
North along the West line of Big Bend Road to an
intersection with the North line of Ruby Street,
extended East; thence West with the extension of the
North line of Ruby Street, and its North line, to
the East line of 5prigg Street; thence Northwardly
along the East line of 5prigg 5treet and Sprigg
Street Road to the North corporate limits ; thence
following the 1967 corporate limits in an easterly
and northerly direction to the West bank of the
Mississippi River; thence in a southerly direction
and along the west bank of said river to the point
of beginning.
(b) Ward No. 2 . Begin at the northeast corner of the
intersection of Amethyst Street and Sprigg Street;
thence west along the north line of Amethyst Street
extended to the northwest corner of the intersection
of West End Boulevard and New Madrid Street; thence
southeast along the west line of West End Boulevard
to the north line of Dunklin 5treet; thence west along
the north line of Dunklin 5treet to the northwest corner
of the intersection of Dunklin 5treet and Perry Avenue;
thence in a general northwesterly direction along the
west line of Perry Avenue and Perryville Road to the
intersection of Perryville Road and the north corporate
limit� of 1958; therice in a general easterly direction
along the said north corporate limits to the intersection
of said corporate limits and 5prigg 5treet Road; thence
southwardly along the east line of Sprigg Street Road
and Sprigg Street to the point of beginning.
(c) Ward No. 3 . Begin at the intersection of the north
line of Independence Street and the Mississippi River
and run west along the north line of Independence
5treet to the northeast corner of the intersection
of Independence and Middle Streets ; thence north
along the east line of Middle Street to the south line
of Ruby Street; thence eastwardly along the south
line of Ruby Street and Ruby Street extended to the
west line of Big Bend Road; thence southwardly along
the west line of Big Bend Road to the north line of
First Street; thence eastwardly along the north line
of First Street to the west bank of the Mississippi
River; thence southwardly along the west bank of the
Mississippi River to the point of beginning.
(d) Ward No. 4 . Begin at the northwest corner of the
intersection of Middle Street and Independence Street
and run west along the north line of Indeperidence
Street to the northeast corner of the intersection of
Independence Street and Pacific Street; thence run
north along the east line of Pacific Street extended to
the intersection of Amethyst Street extended; thence
east along the south line of Amethyst Street extended
to the east line of Sprigg Street; thence North along
the east line of Sprigg Street to Ruby Street; thence
east along the south line of Ruby Street to the west
line of 1Kiddle Street; thence south along the west
line of Middle Street to the point of beginning.
(e) Ward No. 5. Begin at the northwest corner of the
intersection of Pacific 5treet and Independence Street
and run west along the north line of Independence
Street to the east line of West End Boulevard; thence
run generally north along the east line of West End
Boulevard to the south line of New Madrid 5treet;
thence run east along the sauth line of New Madrid
Street and Amethyst Street extended to the west line
of Pacific Street extended; thence run south along
the west line of Pacific 5treet extended and Pacific
Street to the place of beginning.
(f) Ward No. 6 . Begin at the northwest corner of the
intersection of West End Boulevard and Independence
Street and run west along the north line of Independence
Street to the east line of Caruthers Avenue; thence
north along the east line of Caruthers Avenue to the
south line of Dunklin Street; thence east along the
south line of Dunklin Street to the west line of West
End Boulevard; thence south along the west line of
West End Boulevard to the point of beginning.
(g) Ward No. 7 . Begin at the southwest corner of the
intersection of Hopper Road and Highway 61; thence
south with the west line of Highway 61 to the south
corporate limits of the city as existed in 1958;
thence west and north along the 1958 corporate limits
to its intersection with the south line of Collins
Drive; thence east with the south line of Collins Drive
to the east line of Mount Auburn Road; thenCe north
with the east line of Mount Auburn Road to the south
line of Hopper Road; thence East with the south line
of Hopper Road to the point of beginning.
(h) Ward No. 8. Begin at the intersection of the north
line of Morgan Oak 5treet and the Mississippi River;
thence west along the north line of Morgan Oak Street
to the east line of Pacific Street; thence north along
the east line of Pacific Street to the south line of
Indeperidence 5treet; thence east along the south line
of Independence Street to the west bank of the
Mississippi River; thence along the west bank of the
Mississippi River south to the point of beginning.

(i) Ward No. 9 . Begin at the north line of Elm Street
extended and the west bank of the Mississippi River;
thence west along the north line of Elm 5treet to
Benton Street; thence north along the east line of
Benton 5treet to the south line of Bloomfield Street;
thence east along the south line of Bloomfield Street
to the east line of Pacific 5treet; thence south along
the east line of Pacific 5treet to the south 1 ine of
Morgan Oak Street; therice east along the south line of
Morgan Oak 5treet to the west bank of the Mississippi
River; thence south along the west bank of the
Mississippi River to the place of beginning.
(j) Ward No. 10 . Begin at the northwest corner of the
intersection of Benton Street and Elm Street and run
west along the north line of Elm Street to the east
line of West End Boulevard; thence north along the
east line of West End Bouledard to the south line of
Independence Street; thence east along the south
line of Independence 5treet to the west line of Pacific
5treet; thence south along the west line of Pacific
Street to the north line of Bloomfield 5treet; thence
west along the north line of Bloomfield Street to the
west line of Benton Street; thence south along the
west line of Benton Street to the place of beginning.
(k) Ward No. 11. Begin at the southwest corner of the
intersection of Independence Street and West End
Boulevard; thence south with the west line of West
' End Boulevard to the north line of Jefferson �Street;
thence west along the north line of Jefferson Street
to the east line of Missouri Avenue;thence northwardly
with the east line of Missouri Avenue to the north
line of Bloomfield Street; thence west with the north
line of Bloomfield Street to the west line of
Minnesota Avenue; thence south with the west line of
Minnesota Avenue to the north line of Henry 5treet;
thence west with the north line of Henry Street to
the east line of Albert Street; thence north with
the east line of Albert 5treet to the north line of
Bloomfield Street; thence southwesterly with the
north line of Bloomfield 5treet to the east line of
Kingshighway; thence northwardly with the east line
of Kingshighway to the south line of Broadway; thence
eastwardly with the south line of Broadway to the
west side of Caruthers; thence south with the West
line of Caruthers to the south line of Independerice;
thence east with the south line of Independence
to the point of beginning.
(1) Ward No. 12. Begin at the intersection of the west
bank of the Mississippi River and the south line of
Elm 5treet extended; thence south along the west bank
of the Mississippi River to the 1967 south city limits;
thence along the 1958 city limit line west and north
to a point south of the west line of Out Lot 53 extended
southwardly; thence north with the extension of the
west line of Out Lot 53 to the south line of Elm
Street extended; thence eastwardly along the south line
of Elm Street extended to the point of beginning.
(m) Ward No. 13 . Starting at Cape Rock Drive and
Fairlane, then along the north side of Fairlane and
then along the east side of Fairlane to Randol
Drive, then along the east side of Randol Drive to
Melrose Avenue, then along the north side of Melrose
to Caroline Lane, then along the east side of Caroline

Lane to the old city limits, then east along the south
side of the old city limits to Perryville Road, then
south along the west side of Perryville Road to Cape
Rock Drive, then along the north and west side of
Cape Rock Drive to Fairlane to the point of beginning.
(n) Ward No. 14. Begin at the northwest �orner of the
intersection of Dunklin Street and Perryville Road and
thence westwardly along the north line of Dunklin
Street to the northwest corner of the intersection of
Dunklin 5treet and Caruthers Avenue; thence south
along the west line of Caruthers Avenue to the north
line of Broadway; thence west along the north line of
Broadway to the east line of Kingshighway; thence
northwest along the east line of Kingshighway to the
east line of Cape Rock Drive; thence northeastwardly
along the east line of Cape Rock Drive to its intersec-
tion with Perryville Road; thence in a gerieral
southeasterly direction along the east side of
Perryville Road to the point of beginning.
(o) Ward No. 15 . Starting Highway 61 and Cape Rock Drive
along the west side of Cape Rock Drive to Fairlane
then along the south side of Fairlane and along
the west side of Fairlane to Randol Drive, then along
the west side of Randol Drive to Melrose Avenue, then
along the south side of Melrose to Caroline Lane, then
along the west side of Caroline Lane to the old city
limits, then along the south and east line of the old
city limits to Highway 61, then along the north side
of Highway 61 to starting point.
(p) Ward No. 16 . Begin at the intersection of the 1958
corporate limits and the west line of Cape LaCroix
Road; thence northerly with the west line of Cape
LaCroix Road to the 1967 corporate limits; thence
northerly, easterly, and southerly, with the 1967
corporate limits to its intersection with the
1958 corporate limits; thence westwardly and southerly
with the 1958 corporate limits to the point of beginning.
(q} Ward No. 17. Begin at the northwesterly corner
of the intersection of Highway 61 and Hopper Road;
thence westwardly along the north line of Hopper Road
to the west line of Mount Auburn Road; thence south
with the west line of Mount Auburn Road to the north
line of Collins Drive; thence westwardly with the north
line of Collins Drive to the 1958 corporate limits;
thence south and east with the 1958 corporate limits
to the north line of Gordonville Road; thence west
with the north line of Gordonville Road to the east
right-of-way line of Interstate 55; thence northwestwardly
along Interstate 55 to the northwesterly 1967 corporate
limits; thence southeastwardly with the 1967 corporate
limits to the intersection of those corporate limits
with the west line of Cape LaCroix Road; thence
southerly along the west line of Cape LaCroix Road to
the west side of Highway 61; thence southeastwardly
with the west line of Highway 61 to the point of
beginning.
(r) Ward No. 18. Begin at the southeast corner of the
intersection of Interstate 55 and Gordonville Road;
thence eastwardly along the south line of Gordonville
Road to the 1958 corporate limits; thence southerly
and easterly to the intersection of the 1958 corporate

limits and the east line of Highway 61; thence
northerly with the east line Highway 61 to the
south line of Bloomfield; thence northeasterly
with the south line of Bloomfield to the west
line of Albert Street; thence south with the west
line of Albert 5treet to the south line of Henry
Street; thence east with the south line of Henry
Street to the east line of Minnesota Street; thence
northerly with the east line of Minnesota Street
to the south line of Bloomfield Street; thence east
with the south line of Bloomfield to the west line
of Missouri Avenue; thence southwardly with the
west line of Missouri Avenue to the south line of
Jefferson Street; thence east with the south line
of Jefferson Street to the west line of West End
Boulevard; thence south with the west line of
West End Boulevard to the north line of Elm Street
extended; thence west with the north line of Elm
5treet extended to the west line of Minnesota Avenue;
thence south along the west side of Minnesota Avenue
and with the west line of Out Lot 53 extended to
the 1958 south corporate limits at the south line
of Out Lot 62; thence eastwardly and southerly
with the 1958 corporate limits to the 1967 corporate
limits; thence southwestwardly along the 1967 corporate
limits to the east right-of-way line of Interstate 55;
thence northwesterly along the east right-of-way line
of Interstate 55 to the point of beginning. "
5ECTION 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
ten days after its passage and approval.
