AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTFR 30 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU,
MISSOURI , BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF A PART
OF LOT 54 IN RANGE H, CITY AND COUNTY OF
CAPE GIRARDEAU , MISSOURI FROM C-1 TO C-3
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended that all of the property described in Section 1 of
this ordinance should be rezoned from C-1 , Local Commercial
District to C-3 , Central Business District; and
WHEREAS, Public Notice of such change was given as
prescribed in Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Cape Gir��rdeau , Missouri , and public hearing was held on
Wednesday, Nnvember 6 , 1985 ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau ,
,,.� Missouri, has elected to rezone the property described in
Section 1 from C-1 , Local Commercial District to C-3 , Central
Business District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , is hereby amended to change
the zoning from the present ��-1 , Local Commercial District to
C-3 , Central Business District, for the following described
property:
The West 100 feet of Lot Fifty-four ( 54 ) in Range "H" in
the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri .
ALSO, All of that part of Lot Fifty-four ( 54 ) in Range "H"
in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , described as
follows : Beginning at the northeast corner of said Lot 54
in said Range "H" ; thence run West along the South side of
Good Hope Street a distance of 80 feet; thence South
parallel with Ellis Street, 112 feet; thence East, parallel
with Good Hope Street, 80 feet to an alley and thence North
along said alley, 112 feet to the place of beginning.

SECTION 2 . The City Council hereby finds and declares that
the property described in Section 1 hereof is at the present �
time particularly suitable for the purposes and uses of C-3 ,
Central Business District, and that such changes authorized
hereby are reasonable and in reasonable conformity with the
existing uses and value of the immediately surrounding
properties .
SECTIOr1 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approval . 1
