AN ORDINANCE ELECTING A CHANGE IN THE MISSOURI
LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ' RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO
HAVE FINAL AVERAGE SALARY DETERMINED OVER A
THIRTY-SIX MONTH CONSECUTIVE PERIOD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION l . The City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri hereby
elects to adopt a change in the method of determining a member
employee 's final average salary, changing to a thirty-six
consecutive-month period for determining a member employee 's
final average salary in accordance with Sections 70 . 600 and
70 . 656 RSMo 1978, as amended.
SECTION 2. The election made in Section 1 shall be

effective on the lst day of August, 1985.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to certify the election made in Section 1 to the Board
of Trustees of the Missouri Local Government Employees '
Retirement System within ten days after passage and approval of
this ordinance .
