AN ORDINANCE CALLTNG A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
IN THE CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, ON
THE QUESTION WHETHER TO ISSUE THE SEWERAGE
SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, IN AN AMOUNT UP TO
�1 ,900,000. 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING
FUNDS FOR IMPROVING THE SANITARY SEWER
SYSTEM INCLUDING FUND5 TO CONSTRUCT A
SANITARY INTERCEPTOR SEWER LINE FROM EAST OF
HIGHWAY 61 NORTH GENERALLY ALONG CAPE
LACROIX CREEK TO THE HAWTHORNE PUMP STATION,
TO CONSTRUCT A SANITARY SEWER LINE FROM THE
NEW CAPE LACROIX CREEK INTERCEPTOR TO THE
RODNEY TRUNK, TO CONSTRUCT A TRUNK RELIEF
SANITARY SEWER LINE FROM THEMIS STREET TO
KINGSWAY DRIVE AND TO MAKE REPAIRS AT THE
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT; DESIGNATING THE
TIME OF HOLDING SAID ELECTION; AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE
OF SAID ELECTION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
MEASURE TO EXIST

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . That a special bond election is hereby ordered
to be held in the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Tuesday,
June 4 , 1985, on the following question :
QUESTION
Shall the City of Cape Girardeau ,
Missouri , issue its Sewerage System revenue
bonds in an amount up to $1 ,900,000. 00 for
the purpose of providing funds for improving
the sanitary sewer system including funds to
construct a sanitary interceptor sewer line
from east of Highway 61 north generally
along Cape LaCroix Creek to the Hawthorne
Pump Station , to construct a sanitary sewer
line from the New Cape LaCroix Creek
Interceptor to the Rodney Trunk , to
construct a trunk relief sanitary sewer line
from Themis Street to Kingsway Drive and to
make repairs at the wastewater treatment
plant , the cost of operation and maintenance
� of said system and the principal of and
interest on said revenue bonds to be payable
solely from the revenues derived by tI�e City
� from the operation of its sewerage system
including all future extensions and
improvements thereto?
The authorization of said bonds will authorize the City to
fix, establish, maintain and collect rates and charges for the
services provided by the City through its sewerage system
including all extensions and improvements thereto hereafter
constructed or acquired by the City, in addition to the other
rates and charges for such services provided by law, as will
produce income and revenues sufficient to provide funds to pay
the costs of operation and maintenance of said sewerage system
and the principal of and interest on said bonds as they become
due and to retire the same within thirty-five years from the
date thereof, and to provide for the establishment of
reasonable reserves therefor .
Section 2. That the form of the Notice of Bond Election
for said special election, a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, is hereby approved.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to notify the County Clerk of Cape Girardeau County,
Missouri , of the adoption of this Ordinance no later than 5 : 00
o 'clock P. M. on April 9, 1985, and to include in said
notification all of the terms and provisions required by the
'�` Comprehensive Election Act, Chapter 115 of the Revised Statutes
of Missouri , as amended .
Section 4 . That it is hereby declared an emergency exists
as provided for in Section 3. 15 of the City Charter for the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , in that the election
authority, under the time of notice provisions set forth in
Section 115 .125 , Missouri Revised Statutes , 1978 , must be
notified not later than 5 : 00 P. M. on April 9, 1985 of an
election to be held on June 4 , 1985 . It is hereby further
found and declared that calling an election and providing for
the submission of a proposal to the people is an emergency
measure as provided for in Section 3. 15(d ) of the City Charter
of the City of Cape Girardeau , Missouri .
Section 5 . That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval .

� NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION
CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of the City
of Cape Girardeau , Missouri , that the City Council of the City
has called a special election to be held in the City on June 4 ,
1985, commencing at 6 : 00 o 'clock A.M. and closing at 7 : 00
o'clock P. M. , on the question contained in the following sample
ballot:

favor of the question, place an X in the box
opposite "YES". If you are opposed to the
