AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 18-172 OF THE CITY
CODE PERTAINING TO THE SALE OF CERTAIN GOODS ON
SUNDAY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION l . Section 18-172 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , reading as follows :
"Sec. 18-172. Selling Certain Goods on Sunday,
Penalty.
1 . No person shall engage on Sunday in the business of
selling or sell or offer for sale on Sunday, at retail
any of the following: motor vehicles , clothing and
wearing apparel ; clothing accessories ; furniture;
housewares ; home, business or office furnishings ;
household, business or office appliances ; hardware;
tools ; paints ; building and lumber supply materials ;
jewelry ; silverware ; watches ; clocks ; luggage; musical
instruments and recordings or toys ; excluding
novelties and souvenirs .
2. Any person guilty of this offense shall be punished by
a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars except that
any person guilty of a second or subsequent offense
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred
dollars or by imprisonment not exceeding thirty days .
3. Each separate sale or offer to sell shall constitute a
separate offense .
4. Information charging violations of this section shall
be brought within five days after the commission of
the alleged offense and not thereafter . "

is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect ten days after its passage and approved .

CITY OF CAPE GIRARDEAU, MISSOURI
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of the
City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri , that the City Council of the
City has called a special election to be held in the City on
February 5, 1985, commencing at 6 : 00 o ' clock A.M. and closing
at 7 : 00 o ' clock P.M. , on the question contained in the fol-
lowing sample ballot :

FEBRUARY 5, 1985
QUESTION
Shall the City of Cape Girardeau, Mis-
souri , issue its Sewerage System revenue
bonds in the amount of $1 , 400, 000 . 00 for the
purpose of providing funds to construct a
sanitary interceptor sewer line from east of
Highway 61 north generally along Cape La-
Croix Creek to the Hawthorne Pump Station,
to construct a sanitary sewer line from the
New Cape LaCroix Creek Interceptor to the
Rodney Trunk , to construct a trunk relief
sanitary sewer line from Themis Street to
Kingsway Drive and to make repairs at the
wastewater treatment plant, the cost of
operation and maintenance of said system and
the principal of and interest on said reve-
nue bonds to be payable solely from the
revenues derived by the City from the
operation of its sewerage system, including
all future extensions and improvements
thereto?
INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS : If you are in
favor of the question, place an X in the box
opposite "YES" . If you are opposed to the
question, place an X in the box opposite
"NO° .
The authorization of said bonds will authorize the
City to fix, establish, maintain and collect rates and charges
for the services provided by the City through its sewerage
system, including all extensions and improvements thereto here-
after constructed or acquired by the City, in addition to the
other rates and charges for such services provided by law,
as will produce income and revenues sufficient to provide funds
to pay the costs of operation and maintenance of said sewerage
system and the principal of and interest on said bonds as they
become due and to retire the same within thirty-five years from
the date thereof, and to provide for the establishment of rea-
sonable reserves therefor .
The election will be held at the following polling
places in the City:
